Red Tent of Cosmana Navarra - Rabat, Malta

Inspired by Cosmana Navarra, the first female patron of the arts in Malta, I created the Red Tent as part of an artist residency in Rabat, Malta with Spazju Kreattiv. I held creative expression workshops for women and girls and invited them to join me in the red tent in Mdina Ditch; to sew, draw and collage as a way of self expression and sharing their voice creatively. The artwork created in these workshops was then used as inspiration for the design on the outside of the tent, to create a temporary moveable mural. I hand painted the mural in the open air for everyone to see and then it was put together as a final 3D mural.
